IMs Are The Preferred Choice Symantec has finally released the beta version of its much-awaited upcoming security application Norton Confidential. However, this beta is not compatible with the company’s current services and the users would have to uninstall other Norton products if they want to test out this new product.

Symantec had initially announced the Norton Confidential application in June, which is incorporated with anti-phishing blacklists and heuristic-based detectors, keylogger and screen grabber sniffers, site authentication cues, and a password manager.

Norton Confidential utilizes behavioral technologies to guard consumers from “unknown” threats that have never been seen before, as well as signatures to protect against known threats.

The security giant intends to demonstrate it as an after-market add-on for their present users. They already have products like Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus available in the market.

Symantec is also due to announce a subscription based security package called Norton 360 in the market.

A Mac OS X version is also in the works, however the beta only supports the Windows XP operating system.
