Microsoft adCenter Online Advertising Program Launched in US

Microsoft adCenter logo Microsoft announced the launch of its online advertising program adCenter across all its U.S. search queries. Microsoft said it hopes that the switch would help to boost advertising revenue, as well as compete more with Google Adwords advertising program.

Microsoft’s adCenter is in the process of being released internationally, adCenter has already started serving ads in France and Singapore. Testing in the U.K. is slated to begin in June.

Senior director for monetization in Microsoft’s MSN ad-planning group said, AdCenter will give advertisers sophisticated information about consumers, including their location, age, gender and sometimes, their level of wealth. That’s more than what Google and Yahoo! offer

Microsoft claims that majority of the advertisers who had used adCenter in the beta stages reported seeing better conversion rates, which is a good measure of success in advertising.
