About.com plans to offer more online streaming video content
About.com on Wednesday announced that it will expand its online video offerings over the next two months. The website will now offer video programming on the topic of electronic gadgets. Technology reporter Brett Larson hosts the show.
About.com’s expansion reflects a new trend on Web sites of offering more video programming as an advertising vehicle for TV sports and branded product placements.
As the use of broadband grows, an increasing number of U.S. consumers are more liekly to watch streaming videos on their computer screens. According to web metrics firm ComScore Networks more than 94 million people, or 56 percent of the online U.S. population, have watched streaming video online.
