Zotac Mag mini PC unleashed

Zotec Mag Nettop

Zotac puts to fore its power-packed machine that enables computing anytime, anywhere. Zotac’s Mag series brings to users an Nvidia Ion graphics processor along with dual-core Intel Atom 330 or single-core Atom 230 processor.

The system offers utmost flexibility in placing the device, whether it’s flat on a surface, back of a monitor with VESA mounting holes or on a stand. Well, this reminds us of the Acer Aspire Revo. Delivering an eco-friendly computing experience, the device packs in a performance punch in its 186mm x 189mm x 38mm form factor. It claims to be the first one to offer a fusion of slim look with ready to use system, allowing users to choose the desired OS. Along with the operating system, users need to add keyboard, mouse, and display.

“As users start equipping every room in their house with computers for a true networked digital home experience, space and power conservation becomes an issue, especially for larger houses,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. “With the ZOTAC Mag series, we’re providing users with a system suitable anywhere inside a house. The compact size, performance and energy efficiency makes the ZOTAC Mag perfect for all computing uses.”

The Mag ships without an operating system. Be it Windows XP, Vista or Linux, users can opt for an OS of their choice. This complete system with Intel Atom and Nvidia Ion further intensifies the spec sheet with 2GB of DDR2-800 memory and 160GB hard drive.

“We evaluated the market demands for miniature PC systems and every user has different operating system preferences for their digital home connected PCs. By letting the end user select the operating system they want to load, they’re in control of making it the perfect digital home connected system for their preferences,” Berger added.

The connectivity options include eSATA, 6 USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, HDMI (Full HD 1080p compatible), optical S/PDIF output and a 4-in-1-memory card reader (SD/MS/MS Pro/xD). Faster network transfers are enabled with support for Wireless 802.11n WiFi.

This anytime, anywhere Zotac system makes a truly portable system.
