Lenovo has unveiled the new ThinkCentre A62 desktop PC in the US. The company claims that it is one of the most cost effective and stable ThinkCentre PCs ever. Not only that, it is also said to be is among the most environmentally friendly desktops on the market today.

The new desktop comes along with features such as Dash 1.1, a highly touted remote management system and Express Repair which allows users to fix many system corruptions quickly.

It also comes with Lenovo ThinkVantage Technologies which offer comprehensive set of productivity and manageability tools that aim at lowering the total cost of ownership. While the included Express Repair, a TVT component enables fixing many system corruptions in less than three minutes without disturbing data or applications.

Moreover, the system is GREENGUARD and EPEAT Gold certified. The ThinkCentre A62 is bundled with 35 percent post consumer recycled material. The system also goes green with energy conservation feature. Lenovo claims that due to AMD 15w CPU, new desktop uses up to 40 percent less electricity than its ThinkCentre predecessor.

“IT departments, especially in the business world, don’t like change,” said Dilip Bhatia, executive director, global desktop marketing, Lenovo. “The new ThinkCentre A62 was built to provide business customers with longer PC buying cycles. It combines top-notch performance, manageability and environmental responsibility in a high value machine.”

Selected models of the newly introduced desktop are also equipped with onboard DirectX10 for better graphics performance. The ThinkCentre A62 desktop PC is scheduled to ship in September 2008 and will be available at the price starting from $399.
