Acer B223 Monitor Acer in partnership with DisplayLink has unveiled a new computer monitor, B223 with incorporated DisplayLink technology. The 22” B223 USB connected screen is a member of Acer’s ergonomic B series genre of monitors and is Windows Vista Aero-compatible.

“At Acer, we’re committed to enhancing our customers’ viewing experience and mobility, and we realise that different types of users want different features and functionality from their monitors,” remarked Oliver Ahrens, Product Business Director at Acer. “By adding DisplayLink’s USB technology to our popular 22-inch displays, we’re making it easy and cost-effective for computer users to add extra screens.”

The monitor boasts of 1680×1050 widescreen resolution, integrated USB ports for multiple displays, DisplayLink’s DL-160 network display chip and DisplayLink’s plug-and-play technology. A single USB 2.0 port lets users connect to a laptop, wireless keyboard and mouse. The monitor has been designed appropriately for height adjustment, rotation and swivel functions that suit user needs.

DisplayLink’s display chip allows up to six Acer B223 monitors to be connected to a single PC or laptop through a standard USB 2.0 connection. The chip also promises a fully-interactive 32-bit true-colour graphics, with smooth DVD video playback. The plug-and-play technology makes for a fast and simple one step set-up with a five millisecond response time eliminating latency and ensuring great performance.

At a price of EUR 339, the Acer B223 is available now in Europe.


  1. This is the monitor Acer replaces broken unfixable P223WAD with. It is over 5 lbs heavier and far deeper than the P223. If you are using an arm like I am it is too heavy for most of them and you are forced to use the stand. If you are in tight quaters like I am the monitor extra depth due to the built-in speakers becomes totally unrulely! Waste of time money and effort. Oh and by the way the refresh rate is less than the P223. Buy a Samsung or Veiwsonic instead (just to name a couple of far better companies!)
