Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote Control launched

Today, Logitech showcased its latest Harmony One advanced universal remote control, at (no points for guessing that one!) the CES 2008 event. All home entertainment devices can be well-controlled with this latest full touch screen remote.
The ergonomically designed Harmony One has a nice curved shape, making it possible for its users to operate it with great ease.
Incorporating a 2.2-inch color touch screen, Logitech latest remote which boasts of “a more intuitive button layout,” makes use of an infrared receiver thanks to which it can control all home entertainment devices such as DVRs, hi-def TVs etc. All users need to do is gently touch the “Watch a DVD” option on the touch screen to view a DVD, and the other appliances can be controlled similarly.
Ashish Arora, vice president and general manager of Logitech’s Harmony business unit stated, “The Harmony advanced universal remotes have been highly successful at providing easy, one-touch access to favorite activities, such as watching TV, playing a video game, or listening to music - all with a single remote.”
Arora continued, “To further improve our lineup, while developing Harmony One, we sought to intimately understand the interaction between people, their remotes, and their entertainment systems. In fact, Harmony One is the result of our most comprehensive research and development undertaking ever - more than 20,000 hours.”
Slated to hit stores across US and Europe in Feb beginning, Logitech’s Harmony One advanced universal remote control is priced at $249.99.
