GreenPix - Zero Energy Media Wall, the Humungous Fully Solar-Powered LED Wall in Beijing

Wondering what’s this astronomical-sized display above? It’s just one of the attractions that await the 2008 Beijing Olympics!
This humungous LED screen shows breathtaking patterns of light and video to people passing the streets, reports Technabob. If the size of the display has already left you spell bound, the here’s something more. This huge LED screen is fully self-sufficient, which means that the light panels harness the energy of the sun on their own, during the day to create a stupendous wall of light at night. The 20,000 square foot wall of computer-controlled LEDs is the largest of its kind ever built till date.
The GreenPix - Zero Energy Media Wall, designed by Simon Giostra & Partners and Arup, employs thousands of solar photovoltaic capture cells attached to a grid of glass panels, each of which covers a range of computer-controlled LEDs.
This breathtaking wall will feature live and recorded video performances works by artists from across the globe.
The project is slated to complete by June.
Here’s hoping that the sun keeps shining always!
