Kingston has announced that in the wake of the New Year, the memory products manufacturing company, has come up with a special edition of the 2GB DataTraveler 101 USB drive. So how’s this drive special from the rest. Well, this exclusive Kingston thumb drive will be embellished with a Chinese painting pattern on a golden background. Since 2008 is the year of the rat according to the Chinese Zodiac, it has been commemorated with this specially designed drive.

DT 101 sports an interesting looking rat along with Chinese characters “Wu-Zi”, representing the year of 2008. First in the cycle of 12 Chinese horoscopes, the Rat year kicks off the sequence and comes back every twelfth year. The year is also touted to be one of hope, intelligence and brilliance. That’s where the drive seeks inspiration from, and is thus colored with a golden rat, which is a symbol of brightness, value and the fortune, ending all the misery of 2007 and bringing the good luck and peace in 2008.

Nitin Malhotra, Country Manager, India, Kingston Technology said, “Apart from the artistic pattern, the DataTraveler 101’s design reduces the drive’s overall size which allows for easy and unobtrusive transport in a pocket or attached to a keychain..” Adding, “Featuring bonus password protection software, the DT 101 Limited Edition is the perfect solution for storing image files and documents,” Malhotra added.

Kingston’s DataTraveler 101 limited edition is fully compliant with high-speed USB 2.0 specifications, which enables faster and simpler transferring of files and documents. The USB drive is only available in APAC region during this Chinese holiday season in limited supply. Priced at Rs. 1,200/-, the exclusive USB drive carries a fully guaranteed five-year warranty.
