Dell Launches Crystal, a High-End LCD Display

Dell Crystal

With Inspirion 1525 notebooks, Dell has also announced the launch of its 22-inch LCD display called the Crystal. As the name suggests, the Crystal LCD Display features a polished metal tripod that supports the floating screen.

Moreover, the new display incorporates audio speakers with hidden wired circuitry. The Crystal is further equipped with inconspicuous webcam and microphone and features the resolutions of 1680×1050.

Single cable connectivity is another unique attribute of the Crystal.

In nut shell Dell Crystal features:

  • WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 resolution
  • TrueColor Technology with 98 percent color gamut1 (typical)
  • 2ms typical response time (grey to grey)
  • 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (typical)
  • HD connectivity with DVI / HDMI with HDCP, sub-woofer out, USB
  • 2.0 megapixel webcam with microphone
  • “The Dell Crystal is a direct result of listening to customers and applying that inspiration to create strikingly original products that are beautifully functional,” said Steve Gluskoter, director, displays product marketing. “For consumers who value technology with iconic design, Crystal offers an eloquent expression of their high-def lifestyle.”

    Dell has suggested to showcase the Crystal display at the CES 2008. However, it is also available for purchase at www.dell.com/crystal for $1,199.
