Microsoft Surface Video Describes the Whole Concept
Yesterday we had posted about the touch-screen coffee table computing device by Microsoft, which is called Surface. We found this video that actually shows of the bulky yet cool gadget from Microsoft. Check it out:
Touch screen has come a long way. The first touch sensor was created in 1971 by Doctor Sam Hurst during his tenure as instructor at the University of Kentucky. However, the first true touch screen incorporating a transparent surface ‘surfaced’ in 1974.
Though Microsoft will be targeting commercial clients at first, it will come out with a home version of the Surface too. As of now, it is speculated that the touch-screen coffee table computing device will come out in the price range of $5000 - $10, 000, which is very expensive if you compare it with the Tablet PCs that are available these days.
Surface reminds me of a Nintendo DS, but I do have to say, it will be more sophisticated and has lots of features in it. Microsoft will have to add more and more interactive softwares to it, besides the ones which we saw in the video. Anyways, Surface will spawn a new era in computing, but one has to wonder what if Apple comes out with something like tat. It would surely be very, very interesting.
