DVB-T Stick unveiled by TrekStor at CeBIT 2007
TrekStor, a leading manufacturer of MP3 players, external hard disks and USB sticks unveiled for the first time a DVB-T stick for receiving digital terrestrial television at the CeBIT 2007. This new DVB-T stick enables users to view TV programs on their PCs or laptops.
The new TrekStor DVB-T stick has a slim elegant design that makes it perfect for mobile usage, and is bundled with the software package Nero Home Essentials, a remote control unit and a magnetic base aerial.
The Nero Home Essentials software package that is bundled with the TrekStor DVB-T stick supports video, photo and audio playback as well as time shifted TV. This allows users to continue watching from where they left off before. Nero Home Essentials supports media formats such as WMA, JPEG, MPEG, DivX, XviD and Nero Digital.
According to Daniel Szmigiel, General Manager of TrekStor, “With the launch of our new DVB-T stick, we have taken a further decisive step in the direction of multimedia. Demand for an inexpensive, compact DVB-T stick persuaded us to develop a product in this market segment. By combining our hardware with the Nero software package, we are positioned with an extremely compelling product. TrekStor will continue to position itself in the multimedia sector in future, with new and innovative products over and above simply MP3 players and hard disks.”
The TV stick – which weighs just 21 grams – is connected via a high speed USB 2.0 interface. It also has a coaxial connection for an external DVB-T aerial or the house antenna.
The DVB-T Stick will carry a price tag of €39.00 including sales tax (VAT).
