Apple TV and YouTube Logo Today, Apple made two announcements. Firstly, the Cupertino-based company announced that come June, it will bring YouTube videos to Apple TV. Secondly, Apple said that it is offering a new Apple TV build-to-order option with a 160GB hard drive.

Apple TV will wirelessly stream videos directly from YouTube, allowing users to play and watch them on their widescreen TVs.

Using Apple TV’s user-friendly and elegant interface, together with the easy-to-use Apple Remote, viewers will easily be able to browse, find, and watch free videos from YouTube.

According to Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, “This is the first time users can easily browse, find and watch YouTube videos right from their living room couch, and it’s really fun. YouTube is a worldwide sensation, and Apple TV is bringing it directly from the Internet onto the widescreen TV in your living room.”

When the service launches in mid-June, thousands of the most current and popular YouTube videos will be available on Apple TV. YouTube as usual will add thousands of more videos each week until the full YouTube catalog is available this fall.

What’s more; users will be able to log-in to their YouTube accounts on Apple TV to view and save their favorite videos.

Apple’s second offering is a new built-to-order Apple TV with a 60GB hard drive. This new and larger hard drive offers four times the storage and can hold up to 200 hours of video, 36,000 songs, 25,000 photos or a combination of each.

Apple TV, which includes an Apple Remote, is available through the Apple Store, Apple’s retail stores and Authorized Resellers for a price of $299. But, Apple TV with a 160GB hard drive will have a price of $300. The YouTube feature for Apple TV will be available as a free software update in mid-June.
