4GB and 8GB SDHC Memory Cards in Class 2, 4 and 6 introduced by Kingston
Independent world leader in memory products, Kingston Technology has just announced that it has introduced three new 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) memory cards in Class 2, 4 and 6 speed ratings. Along with this, Kingston has also introduced two new 4GB SDHC cards in Class 4 and 6 speeds. The reason for bringing out these higher capacity memory cards is mainly to maximize the performance of today’s higher resolution imaging devices such as digital cameras, camcorders, PDAs and MP3 players.
According to Rajesh Panicker, Country Manager, India, Kingston, “Today’s higher resolution image devices require larger memory card capacity and faster Data Transfer Rate (DTR) to maximize overall performance. Our new 8GB SDHC cards, as well as the 4GB Class 4 and 6 cards, satisfy the growing demand to help consumers get the most out of their advanced digital devices.”
Earlier just a 2GB capacity was available in the new SDHC format. Basically each SDHC class designation reflects the minimum sustained DTR of megabytes per second. So, a Class 2 SDHC card will have a minimum DTR of 2MB/sec, while a Class 6 SDHC card will have a minimum DTR of 6MB/sec.
The newly introduced 8GB and 4 GB SDHC memory cards, just like Kingston’s entire line of SDHC memory card is backed by a lifetime warranty as well as free technical support. Kingston’s products are distributed in India by AA Infoways, Avnet India, Ingram Micro, Kobian Electronics and Transtek Infoways.
