Toshiba 32GB, 16GB SDHC and 8GB microSDHC Cards announced

Toshiba 16GB, 32GB SDHC and 8GB microSDHC Cards Toshiba, a leading innovator in memory card solutions has expanded its SD High Capacity card line-up with the launch of three new cards, one of which is the world’s first 32GB memory card. The other two cards are the 16GB SDHC card and an 8GB microSDHC card.

Toshiba’s 32GB SDHC card, 16GB full size SDHC card and the 8GB microSDHC card can be used with cameras, mobile phones as well as digital audio players.

In the SDHC format, all three cards have a Class 4 rating meaning that they will offer 4MB/sec transfer speeds. This Speed Class also ensures that they will deliver high level performance and functionality that has become the need of the hour when using advanced mobile phones and other personal digital products.

According to Toshiba, its first ever 32GB SDHC memory card and the 8GB microSDHC card will go into mass production from January 2008. But, its 16GB SDHC card will be produced on a large scale from October 2007 onwards.

Thus the Toshiba 16GB SDHC memory card (SD-HC016GT4) will be available from October onwards this year itself, while the 32GB SDHC card (SD-HC032GT4) and the 8GB microSDHC card (SD-MH008GA) will be launched worldwide in January 2008. No word on the prices as yet.

Toshiba also said that it will continue to expand and upgrade its SDHC and SD Memory Card series to meet the growing demands for high speed, and high density products.
