Leading global hard drive manufacturer Western Digital has just announced the launch of its new range of external storage products in India. WD’s new launches include the My Book Premium ES Edition, the 250GB WD Passport Portable and the My Book Family.

For those who are wondering, the eSATA interface on the My Book Premium ES Edition can move data to and from a PC or Pac as fast5 as 300MB per second which is actually much faster than USB 2.0 which has a standard transfer rate of 60MB/s.
Besides, this technology offers users superior performance for multimedia applications like streaming music and movies as well as for video editing.
