In an effort to embrace the new era of Windows next-generation operating system Vista, chip maker SiS has been spending a great deal of time working closely with Microsoft to develop the most competitive Vista-compatible chipsets.
SiS has sent in word that a number of its chipsets are now Vista-compatible. These include the SiS 671FX and SiS672FX chipsets. Read on to find out more.
The SiS 671FX chipset that was originally launched early 2007 has been widely applied in several brands of motherboards, desktop PCs, and laptops made by leading worldwide providers.
The newer SiS672FX follows the great success of the SiS671FX chipset and expected to be integrated into many platforms to show off its extreme performance.
Desktop solutions include the SiS671FX, SiS671, SiS671DX, SiS672DX and SiS672FX and SiS672. Mobile solutions from SiS include the SiSM671 and SiSM672 chipsets
The SiS671FX, SiS671DX, and SiS672FX chipsets are all compatible with Windows vista and have been designed specially for Intel platforms. They support Intel Core 2 Duo processors (FSB 1066/800MHz), and DDR2-667 memory with capacity up to 4GB.
Both the SiS671FX and SiS672FX series chipsets for desktop and mobile PCs are capable of meeting the needs of different customers ranging from high-end to entry-level applications.
What’s more; the SiS671Fx and SiS672FX series of chipsets (except SiS671DX) are integrated chipsets with MiracgeT3 and MirageT3+ graphics engines. Thus, these chipsets are able to deliver powerful graphics performance enhancements and outstanding power management to customers.
Meanwhile, the SiS671DX chipset is aimed at gamers who always desire to have the most high-end products. This chipset supports Intel Core 2 Duo processors and DDR2-667 memory, and allows up to 4GB of memory capacity.
SiS’ mobile solutions which include the SiSM671 and SiSM672 chipsets, also support Intel Core 2 Duo (FSB1066MHz) processors and DDR2-667 memory with memory size of up to 4GB.
For the feature of power saving, the SiSM671 and SiSM672 chipsets both equips the SiS’s Smart Dynamic Clock Gating power management on the integrated MirageT3 and MirageT3+ graphics engines to flexibly adjust the working frequency according to the processing loading of the 2D and 3D controllers, and save 40% power consumption at most.
