Sony has announced the availability of its new line-up of DVD writers and Memory Card reader in India, thereby enhancing its optical storage and card reader section in the country.

DRU-190A and AD-7190A-OB are the two new internal DVD writers introduced in India. Apart form these, the electronics maker also released the first external 20X DVD Writer DRX-840U.

In addition, Sony has a drive for 3.5″ bay which now can be occupied by the new Memory Card reader MRW-620-2/AU5 which includes a USB port that makes it possible for users to have an easy connection to other USB-enabled devices.

Speaking about the latest products, Edmund Tan, Assistant Manager– Sales and Marketing for Computer Peripherals products in Applications and Devices Marketing - Singapore, said, “Today customers are looking for innovative and new products all the time and with this latest range, we are offering them greater options and value to cater to their needs further. Higher 8X rewrite speed for double layered discs is one of the notable features that the new drives include. The External DRX-840U can be connected with USB 2.0 and is ideally suited with modern desktop PCs. As our need and usage of USB drives is increasing by the day, Sony has developed the MRW-620-2/AU5, which is an 11-in-1 card reader that has a USB slot, giving users more convenience of use without going through the hassles of going behind the PC to attach a device.

Sony’s latest DVD writers and Memory Card reader will be available via Rashi Peripherals across India, by September-end. No idea on the pricing of the products.
