Sony has launched two new speaker docks for the iPod one of which is an iPod Dock Boombox, while the other is iPod Dock Clock Radio. These two new iPod docks offer high quality sound, unique features and an exceptional design.

According to Andrew Sivori, director of personal audio products in the Digital Imaging and Audio Division at Sony Electronics, “Consumers are treating the iPod as a format, like the compact disc, which is why Sony is now delivering audio products to support it.”

The iPod Dock Clock Radio the ICF-C1iP clock radio integrates standard iPod adapters, but does not really require them to be used. The iPod fits well on this dock.

Also included with the ICF-CliP Clock Radio is a wireless remote control that provides full access to the iPod’s menu, radio tuning and volume functions.

Besides, the clock radio dock charges the iPod while it is docked. This dock also sports a full-function alarm clock. Thus users can wake up or even dose off to content on their iPod, the radio or a buzzer.

Interestingly, the ICF-CliP iPod clock radio dock has automatic Daylight Savings Time adjustment, eliminating the need to reset the clock in the spring and the fall seasons. Also, one can adjust the brightness of the LCD display located on the dock.

The second iPod dock unveiled by Sony is called the ZS-S2iP Boombox. Just like the clock radio dock, the Boombox too has a built-in digital AM/FM tuner. It incorporates Sony’s Mega Bass Sound system.

The Sony ZS-S2iP Boombox also has an integrated CD player that supports CD-R/RW playback. It also comes with a wireless remote control which offers full iPod menu access.

You can charge your iPod in the Boombox’s dock. What’s more, the dock tray is retractable when not in use, saving space. The Sony ZS-S2iP Boombox has an auxillary input and supports AC/DC operation.

The Sony ICF-CliP Clock Radio iPod Dock and the ZS-S2iP Boombox come in black and white for around $100. They will be available in August 2007.
