SanDisk Extreme Ducati CompactFlash and SD Plus Cards

Besides introducing the super-fast Extreme Ducati USB flash drives, SanDisk also rolled out two new SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition cards- The Extreme Ducati Edition CompactFlash and the Extreme Ducati Edition SD Plus cards.

Both the SanDisk Extreme Ducati CompactFlash and the SD Plus cards have the quickest read/write speeds and are being targeted at digital photographers.

The SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition CompactFlash card comes in 4GB and 8GB capacities, while the SD Plus card from SanDisk comes in just a 4GB capacity.

What’s more; the SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition SD Plus card features a snap-open connector that enables the card to be plugged in directly to the computer’s USB port without the need for a cable or a reader.

Both these new memory cards sport distinctive bright red labels. In keeping with the theme, the packaging too bears images of DucatiGP racers and the Ducati Corse emblem.

According to Tanya Chuang, director of worldwide retail product marketing for the high performance imaging market at SanDisk, “With the SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition cards, we have reached a new threshold of speed – 45 megabytes per second for the CompactFlash cards and 20MB/sec1 for the SD Plus card. These speeds allow for fast transfers of images from the cards, and are especially useful for professional photographers in their work-flow environments.”

Initially, the Extreme Ducati Edition CompactFlash and SD Plus cards will be available in North America and Europe for a price of $197.99 for the 4GB CompactFlash card and $377.99 for the 8GB CompactFlash card. The 4GB SD Plus card will set Ducati fans back of $155.99. Availability in the rest of the world will soon follow.
