Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner

Digital imaging company Epson has introduced the Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner in India. The V500 is Epson’s very first dedicated photo scanner to incorporate the ReadyScan LED Technology, which is a novel feature that makes possible rapid scanning with zero warm up time and very low power consumption.

Ideal for amateur photographers, the Perfection V500 Photo scanner is aprt for users who are keen to digitize their photo collection. It includes high optical resolution of up to 6400dpi (dots per inch) with a rich 48-bit color depth to ensure accurate digital scans.

The new Epson photo scanner has the ability to support a broad array of file formats. It is equipped with an easy-to-use film holder which gives users the flexibility of scanning 12 frames of standard 35mm filmstrips, four frames of 35mm mounted slides or 1 frame of medium format at one go. The V500 has the capability of restore and revive any kind of images, may it be an old photo or a series of slides or filmstrip negatives. All this is thanks to its Digital Ice Technology digitally that clears dust and scratch marks. To make certain that color reproduction is kept accurate and reliable across multiple devices, ICC Profile Embedding has been bundled to the enhanced Epson Scan.

Apart form the photography requirement, the V500 scanner can be equipped with an optional 30-sheet (up to A4 size) capacity ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) to improve output in an office environment. In addition, there is a broad range of useful software bundled for the office user in mind. For example, the High Compression PDF function in Epson Scan helps keep scanned documents at a minimal file size while making certain that the text remains readable, while the ABBYY FineReader 6 Sprint PlusTM is a powerful Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tool that converts the image of a text document for easy editing with MS Word or MS Excel.

The Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner will be launched anytime around this month and will be priced at Rs. 15,999/-.
