IPNet Smart Surveillance Camera design announced by eInfochips

eInfochips, a chip and product design services company with “spec-to-silicon-to-system” capabilities, on Wednesday, launched IPNetCam, the world’s most advanced intelligent IP surveillance camera with complex video analysis abilities, thereby giving a further impetus to India’s rapid emergence as a product development destination.
IPNetCam is a smart surveillance camera reference design based on Texas Instruments’ (TI) DaVinci technology and ObjectVideo OnBoard analytics. IPNetCam is a ready-to-go solution enabling original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to develop a range of intelligent IP surveillance cameras quickly and with low development costs.
IPNetCam sets new standards in network-supported security and video-surveillance technology offering robust video content analysis that enables rule-based object detection, classification, tracking and real-time alerting. Intelligent video surveillance will help increase the overall effectiveness of security systems, reduce loss of valuable assets and, potentially, save lives.
“Surveillance is a focused market for TI’s DaVinci technology, and as an early adopter of DaVinci technology, eInfochips has rapidly acquired expertise to target the burgeoning security surveillance market with IPNetCam,” said Dr Bobby Mitra, managing director, TI India.
“ObjectVideo is delighted to enable eInfochips’ IPNetCam with ObjectVideo OnBoard™, optimized for the DaVinci devices.” eInfochips has created a comprehensive, integrated platform that helps companies quickly and easily bring analytics enabled IP cameras to market - and puts ObjectVideo intelligence into the edge device,” said ,” said Brian Eckert, vice president of sales and marketing for ObjectVideo
eInfochips leveraged DaVinci as to deliver the IPNetCam, one of the world’s pioneering camera reference designs to feature dual streaming with multiple codecs. The camera makes use of ObjectVideo OnBoard, the industry-leading technology for video content analysis that allows rule-based object detection, classification, tracking and real-time alerting. Equipped with two sensor inputs and two alarm outputs, the camera can be used for triggering external devices for ObjectVideo alerts. An SD memory card support allows pre- and post-event recording.
“eInfochips has built unmatchable domain expertise in video surveillance. We plan to develop more innovative surveillance product lines on next generation TI platforms,” continued Shroff.
Targeted towards transportation, banking, retail, government, home networking, and critical infrastructure sectors, IPNetCam reference design kit is priced at $4995.
