Today, SiS announced that it will be introducing the SiS671DX-based ASUS F5V Series of notebooks in the Indian market. This announcement follows the adoption of SiS671Fx chipsets by ASUS P5S-MX SE motherboard.

The ASUS F5V notebook features a 15.4-inch widescreen LCD monitor that delivers high-end video and audio to its users. This notebook also features Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology and the SiS671DX chipset.

The ASUS F5V notebook supports Intel Core Duo and Intel Celeron M processors, DDR2-667 DRAM with capacity up to 2GB.

This new notebook from ASUS features one DVI and one VGA port that delivers smooth visual effects.

What’s more; the SiS671DX chipset is fully compatible with Windows Vista. Also, by combining different levels of graphic cards, the SiS671DX chipset enables the ASUS F5V notebook to support a wide range of operating systems including Windows Vista Ultimate/Business/Home Premium/Home Basic.

Additionally, the SiS968 Southbridge has been paired with the SiS671DX chipset, optimizing the functionality of ASUS F5V notebook.

The SiS968 chipset increases the transmission speed of hard disk and DVD ROM by providing Serial ATA high-speed slots.

Also, the SiS968 chipset supports 4 USB 2.0 ports. The ASUS F5V notebook has built-in 10/100Mbps Ethernet, 802.11b/g based Mini-Card PCIe and Bluetooth support.
