Logitech, the world’s leading manufacturer of webcams has announced two new additions to its fast-growing product line of notebook peripherals. The newly launched Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks and the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks both offer Logitech’s enhanced RightSound and RightLight Technology. These new webcams were unveiled at CeBIT 2007.

Both the Logitech QuickCam Deluxe and QuickCam for Notebooks offer Logitech’s RightSound technology with new noise suppression, which helps to improve sound quality. These two webcams also incorporate Logitech’s RightLight technology, which enables crisp and clear image quality even in very dim lighting.

So what makes the Logitech QuickCam Deluxe special? Well, the QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks webcam, besides being a sophisticated, compact webcam, incorporates a glass lens for improved image clarity. This upgrade ensures exceptional video communication and that too at a great price. This webcam uses a glass lens with a 1.3 megapixel sensor.

The webcam is also extremely easy to use. A snapshot button located on the top of the webcam enables people to quickly take a photo. To accommodate people using larger laptop computers, the adjustable, spring-tension clip works on panels up to 20 mm thick. And because the QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks is certified for the Windows Vista operating system, people running Windows Vista on their PCs can simply plug in their webcam and start using it.

The Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks webcam has a built-in microphone and enhanced SoundRight Technology. With this webcam you will not have to use a headset. Again, there is a snapshot button and a focus ring function, which helps people obtain better image clarity.

The QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks and the QuickCam for Notebooks both work with Windows Vista. The new QuickCam software (Version 10.5) includes a number of webcam-specific gadgets, including QuickVideo, QuickPicture and QuickView.

Both the Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks and the QuickCam for Notebooks webcams work well with most video messaging applications such as Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and AIM.

According to Gina Clark, vice president of product marketing for Logitech’s Internet Communications business unit, “As notebook computers quickly become the form factor of choice for consumers, Logitech continues to deliver high-quality, affordable notebook webcams that help people make reliable video calls. Our two new notebook webcams offer people great image quality at a reasonable price — and make video communication easier. We’re proud to continue leading the market and helping to connect friends and family across the miles and around the world.”

The Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks and Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks webcam are expected to be available in April in the US and Europe. The Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks and the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks will carry a price tag of $59.99 and $39.99.
