Buffalo Technology has introduced the TeraStation Live (HS-DH4.0TGL/R5) and TeraStation Pro II (TS-H4.0TGL/R5) having a capacity of 4TB, in the Indian market. With the new NAS devices, home and business users will get more hard space to store and share their digital content.

Buffalo’s TeraStation Pro II is specially designed for small and medium sized businesses and home office users (SME/SOHO) that want a cost-effective, high-performance NAS device, which delivers enhanced performance and reliability. It supports Active Directory integration to enable the TeraStation Pro II to utilize domain users and groups by working as a client member in an Active Directory domain.

The TeraStation Live and TeraStation Pro II deliver transfer rates of up to 35MB/s and include five operating modes (i.e. Standard, RAID 0/1/5/10), guaranteeing security of valuable data. The enhanced RAID also allow for email warnings when there is a system fault, scheduled RAID checks and continuous monitoring of the file system.

Gerardine Lynch, Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo said, “According to IDC (March 2007) the amount of digital data created and copied will grow by 57% every year, reaching 988 billion gigabytes by the end of the decade.” Lynch added, “By expanding our TeraStation line to 4TB, space for more than 650 DVD movies for the home and 5000 CDs worth of data to the business, we are fulfilling users’ storage requirements for the forseeable future.”

TeraStation Live packs in several multimedia features such as Buffalo’s recently introduced “Web Access” tool, a free online service that makes it possible for users to immediately and securely access all digital files stored on the TeraStation situated at home through an internet connection. The Network Attached Storage (NAS) device also comes with iTunesT 7 support and a DLNA Mediaserver.

The Buffalo 4TB TeraStation Live and TeraStation Pro II are available immediately at an ESP of Rs 97,000/- and Rs 1,55,000/- respectively. Both the NAS devices come with a limited two-year warranty.
