SanDisk Ultra II SD High Capacity card and MicroMate USB 2.0 reader SanDisk has introduced the 8GB SanDisk Ultra II SD High Capacity (SDHC) card that allows for storage of a greater number of photos and videos. It is able to store over 4,000 high-resolution pictures or up to 15 hours of MPEG 4 video. This card will benefit digital photography enthusiasts.

The SanDisk Ultra II SDHC card has a write speed of 9 megabytes per second and a read speed of 10MB/sec. This card has a Class 4 speed rating. The new 8GB SanDisk Ultra II SDHC card uses the SD 2.00 specification, which is a new design that is required for cards and cameras to support capacities from 4GB to 32GB.

The SanDisk Ultra II SD High Capacity card ships with the SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 reader at no extra charge. Basically, SDHC cards need an SDHC-compatible reader to transfer images from cards to a computer.

“As new SDHC-compatible digital still cameras and camcorders arrive on the market with greater frequency, consumers should select a memory card that meets the demands of these devices. This combination of an 8GB SanDisk Ultra II SDHC card and a MicroMate reader gives consumers high capacity, proven performance and convenience at an exceptional value,” said Anna Enerio, retail product marketing manager at SanDisk.

The 8GB SanDisk Ultra II SD High Capacity (SDHC) card together with the MicroMate SDHC/SD card reader costs $239 and will be available in June 2007.
