Transcend has announced its new 160GB StoreJet 2.5 SATA External HDD drive. A stylishly designed, polished aluminum case houses the drive.

The Transcend 160GB StoreJet 2.5 drive makes use of its Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface, which provides data transfer rates of up to 480Mbits per second while maintaining full compatibility with older computers that only support USB 1.1.

Within the StoreJet’s streamlined shell is a new generation, high-capacity 160GB HDD that supports transfer rates of up to 1.5Gb/s via “point to point” data connections.

Besides being a whole lot faster than other SATA SSD drives, the Transcend 160GB SATA HDD drive also saves power with its low operating voltage.

The StoreJet 2.5 SATA HDD drive features a very convenient “OneTouch Auto-Backup” button which makes external storage easier and more productive.

Transcend’s StoreJet 2.5 SATA HDD enclosure is 100% compatible with all brands of 2.5” SATA hard drives. The StoreJet 2.5 supports all commonly used operating system like Windows Kernel 2.4 or later.
