Hitachi to Sell HP Business PCs in Japan
Hitachi Ltd. on Friday announced that it will sell computers made by U.S. computer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. that are designed for businesses under the Hitachi brand in Japan.
This new agreement boosts Hewlett-Packard’s cooperative ties with the Hitachi Ltd. Hewlett-Packard current provides Hitachi with servers.
The Hewlett-Packard made computers will replace the Flora line currently sold by Hitachi, company spokesman Masayuki Takeuchi said. The consumer line called Prius will continue with products manufactured by Hitachi, he said.
Hitachi has an annual sale of about 140,000 consumer-line personal computers and around 350,000 business PCs, company spokesman Takeuchi said, according to the Associated Press reports.
