Moser Baer logo After acquiring Hindi and Gujarati movie titles from Ultra Video, Moser Baer could be affirming its presence in the Indian market with the announcement of DVD players that will priced at only about Rs.1000-1500.

At present Moser Baer is planning to strike deals with big names such as Philips, LG, Samsung and Mirc to introduce a low-end VCD and DVD player priced at about Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,500 respectively. This will certainly be quite a significant change in price compared to the present day VCD and DVD players that cost around Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 5,000.

Speaking about the latest move, Moser Baer Entertainment CEO Harish Dayani said, “Its still in premature stages, but in the next six to eight months, we should have something concrete in the market. We are in conversation with all the electronic players who manufacture VCD and DVD players.” Adding, “With more DVD/VCD home, volume will surge, and that is when one will see the home entertainment market opening up.”

Moser Baer also seems to be in works of opening its own branded outlets and joining hands with large format retails stores.

Such affordable devices will perhaps be like a dream-come-true for the rural people who would also be able to have entertainment just a finger click away with these VCD and DVD players.
