Linksys Wireless-G WRH54G Broadband Router

Today, Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems and globally recognized provider of networking solutions announced the launch of the Wireless-G WRH54G broadband router in India. This networking device happens to be the first wireless broadband router customized for Indian home users, particularly for first time buyers, students, professionals, travelers and price sensitive customers.

Present at the launch was Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, Regional sales Director, APAC region who provided all those present with details of the company’s first India-centric wireless router as well as the marketing strategy of Linksys.

Mr. Sanjeev Gupta said, “WRH54G is designed for Indian users, who want flexibility and a cost-effective way to adopt wireless broadband. It will help accelerate the deployment of wireless broadband network in India while further strengthening Linksys’ leadership in the Indian market.”

The Linksys Wireless-G WRH54G router sports an intelligent dual-antenna design providing better wireless performance. It offers a high transmission speed of 54Mbps.

Since it is essentially an integrated wireless broadband network solution, the WRH54G is a Wireless Access Point that supports the standard Wireless-G (802.11g) and Wireless-B (802.11b) equipment.

Besides, the Linksys WRH54G Wireless broadband router offers Indian customers customized features that highlight the product’s “Made For India” label. These brilliant features are:

  • Equipped with Friendly Controls of Internet Access, the WRH54G supports On- Demand and Time-based access control for better management of internet access. This function is designed to help ensure that Indian consumers are able to monitor and control usage of broadband facility and economize accordingly as most of the users are still on time or volume based service plan.
  • WRH54G is designed to have a Flexible Wireless Radio Control, built in with on/off Control Scheduler to support multiple scheduling, and helping to safeguard home wireless access. Users can select the start/stop or adjust the wireless signal.
  • Equipped with a build-in web based setup wizard which helps users to setup the WRH54G easily and quickly.
  • “The WRH54G is unique in its features that help consumers to easily build a wireless broadband network in addition to economize on the way that they use it.     The Linksys WRH54G router also allows users to share single high-speed wire-based network or DSL, allowing users to share a single Internet connection. The Linksys WRH54G wireless router has an internal 4-port full duplex 10/100 Ethernet switch, allowing users to connect additional wire-based Ethernet network equipment or to cascade with switch and expand into more switch ports.

    A great feature of the Linksys WRH54G router is that it offers top-notch security measures, ensuring a secure connection. This device also supports 128-bit industrial-strength encryption, protecting the user’s data and privacy.

    Other strategies that are adopted by Linksys include ‘Scratch and Match’ contests, alliance marketing with similar products, and engagement with IT retail stores of all sizes.

    The newly launched Linksys WRH54G wireless broadband router under the company’s “Made For India” label is available at a very affordable price. It is immediately available for a price of Rs.2299 via Linksys’ local distributors and resellers in India.
