
Apple has unveiled a new line of iMac desktop computers that feature large 20- and 24-inch widescreen displays encased in smart-looking aluminum and glass enclosures. they are very sleek too, and hardly take up any deskspace. Yes, teh new iMac is all about minimalism.
Moreover, the new Apple iMac line features Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Also new to the iMac desktop computers is the ultra-thin aluminum Apple keyboard, a built-in iSight video camera for conferencing and the newly introduced iLife ’08 software suite.
Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO said, “This new iMac is the most incredible desktop computer we’ve ever made. Our new design features the innovative use of materials, including professional-grade aluminum and glass that are highly recyclable.”
The latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors that run up to 2.8GHz with 4MB of shared L2 cache and have up to 4GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory are loaded on to the all-new iMacs.
The new iMac line also features ATI’s next generation of graphics with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB of GDDR3 memory and the ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB of GDDr2 memory.
What’s more; the all new iMac desktop computers offer up to 1Terabyte of internal storage, allowing the user to accommodate a user’s growing library of digital photos, movies and music.
Apple has stressed on the fact that its new iMac line of computers are made of highly recyclable and durable including the scratch-resistant glass and professional grade aluminum. The company also claims that the iMac is extremely power-efficient as it meets the rigid new Energy Star 4.0 requirements.Well, it’s no wonder that Apple has gone all out to prove itself eco-efficient, after it was ranked last in the Greenpeace 2007 rankings.
