nvidia starts Design Center in Pune, India

nVidia logo nVidia Corp. has started a design center in Pune, India. The Pune center will be equipped as an exclusive data center allowing the the design of technologies for a variety of products and platforms.

nVidia said that the new facility in Pune marks the company’s growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

Jen-Hsun Huang, Co-Founder, President and CEO, Nvidia Corp. said, “The expansion of our R&D operations in India is based on our belief in the country’s outstanding engineering talent and ability to create innovative technology.” Huang continued, “India is highly strategic to Nvidia and we are delighted to become a member of the Pune community.”

Since the inception of nVidia, it has invested more than $1 billion into research and development. As it grows into new product areas, including handheld graphics processors for mobile phones, the company plans to broaden its research and development investment on a worldwide basis.
