Hewlett Packard wants to expand laser printer market in India
Hewlett Packard (HP) today announced an aggressive strategy to grow the laser printer market in the country. The new initiatives are part of HP’s three-pronged “Go To Market” strategy, aimed at enhancing support and service for laser printers, further penetrating Tier II and Tier III cities, and making laser technology affordable for consumers.
To enhance total customer experience, HP has further extended its after-sales support service for entry-level laser printers, by offering unit level replacement during the period of warranty at all service centres, as against just unit repair that was offered earlier.
Lastly, HP is making its entry-level laser printers available at more affordable prices. The company has also launched a series of multi-function devices to empower SMBs with the power of digital convergence.
Samir Shah, country marketing manager - shared printing and connectivity, HP India Sales, said, “As the undisputed market leader, HP believes in growing, expanding, and leading the laser printer market in India. We have in recent times seen greater acceptance for laser technology amongst SMBs and SOHOs as well. With these initiatives, newer segments among SOHOs will also experience the HP brand promise of reliability and quality, along with ease-of- adoption, availability and usage.”
According to company sources, HP had only recently conducted a study along with IMRB, to understand customers and customer needs in the Indian market.
