iGen3 Digital Production Press introduced in India by Xerox

Xerox India lifted the wraps over the Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press at PAMEX 2006, a leading international event for the Indian printing industry. The Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press has been installed with Seshasai, a commercial printer in Mumbai.
Xerox stated that at a speed of 6600 4/0 A4 full process color impressions per hour, 110 4/0 impressions per minute and 1500 A3 tabloid 4/4 sheets per hour, the Xerox iGen3 offers unmatched speed, among any cut-sheet digital press available in the country. It features the third-generation SmartPress technology to enable flexibility, quick turn around and economics to match the output of offset print quality.
Speaking at the launch of Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press, at PAMEX 2006, Andrew Horne, managing director, Xerox India Limited, said, “We are delighted to launch our most advanced and flagship Digital Production Press in India. Referred to as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of digital printers, its launch signifies the coming of age of the Indian digital printing industry.”
The Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press is said to be the result of a $1 billion global research and development investment and includes more than 300 patents worldwide.
The third generation SmartPress technology applied in the Xerox iGen3 features SmartPress Imaging that ensures a single point transfer of image, SmartPress Paper Handling that makes possible managing mixed stock in a single run and SmartPress Sentry that allows maintaining an online repository of every stock used to ensure maximum uptime and trouble free operation.
