AMD Confirms the Launch of Athlon 64 FX-60

Chip firm AMD announced the release of its dual core desktop Athlon 64 FX-60 adding that it was immediately available.
When purchased in bulk quantities of 1,000, the CPU would be costing over $1,000. Firms using it include Evesham, Alienware, Monarch, Voodoo PC and others. 
HP has yet to announce if it will be using the FX-60 or not. According to other reports, it is also holding fire on releasing some Intel Dual Core machines until it fully assesses them.
At present units are already for sale in the Akihabara district of Tokyo.
