Apple Mac Pro Quad Xeon 64-bit desktop workstation launched in India
Apple Computer India has launched Mac Pro, a Quad Xeon 64-bit desktop workstation in India.
Apple India said that the Mac Pro comes with superior performance, greater expansion, better graphics options, and enhanced customization which is ideal computer system for the most demanding of users.
The new Apple Mac Pro showcases two brand new 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors, each come with 4MB of shared L2 cache, independent 1.33 GHz front-side buses, and new system architecture that is almost twice as fast as the Power Mac G5 Quad. The Apple Mac Pro has 1GB of 667 MHz DDR2 fully buffered ECC memory, which is upgradeable up to 16 GB.
Apple Mac Pro is the fastest Mac computer available today that completes the transition for Apple, with the all Mac computers now using Intel’s latest processors. The Mac Pro is twice as faster in performance than its previous generations, up to 25 percent more affordable and quieter.” Said Melvyn Chen, marketing manager of desktop product for Apple Asia Pacific.
The new Mac Pro for the first time comes with an direct-attach storage solution for cable-free, snap-in installation of up to four 500GB Serial ATA hard drives. The Mac Pro has support for two optical drives to concurrently read and write to CDs and DVDs.
For gaming needs Apple Mac Pro includes Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT with 256MB of GDDR2 SDRAM, 250GB Serial ATA (3Gb/s) hard drives running at 7200 rpm, and 16x SuperDrive with double layer support.
Mac Pro also offers ATI Radeon X1900 XT and Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 graphics cards, both with 512 MB of GDDR3 SDRAM, Airport Extreme module, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR module, Apple USB modem, Mac OS X Server Tiger, Apple Xsan, and Apple Fibre Channel PCI Express Card.
The new Mac Pro comes with the Apple wireless keyboard and Apple’s Mighty Mouse and is priced Rs 1,63,700.
