nvidia nvtv Nvidia Corp has launched a PC add-in TV tuner card with two tuners, both of them are ready to receive and record analogue broadcasts from around the world.

Nvidia released two versions: the NTSC-supporting part and a PAL/SECAM model.

The Nvidia DualTV card is best suited for Windows XP Media Center Edition systems and users who want to be able to watch one programme while recording another.

“Nvidia is taking a comprehensive approach to its Windows XP Media Center Edition solutions,” said Kevin Eagan, general manager of the Windows eHome Division at Microsoft Corp. “By focusing on key components such as form factors, reducing system noise and expanding end-user control, NVIDIA is developing solid hardware solutions for Media Center that will improve the consumer experience.”

The Nvidia DualTV uses Nvidia’s PureVideo technology much better to separate out the colour and brightness information bonded in the broadcast signal and to remove noise from the picture. It also comes with an inbuilt amplifier to boost weak input signals.

Nvidia claims DualTV has the best picture quality of any dual-tuner card on the market.
The Nvidia DualTV card comes with an FM antenna, S-video, composite video, co-axial and set of audio cables, along with a variety of adaptors and cable splitters.

The Nvidia NTSC DualTV is available in the US and is priced at $169.
