ASUSTeK Introduces WL-BTD202 Bluetooth Dongle Kit

Asus WL-BTD202 Bluetooth dongle kit ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has introduced the WL-BTD202 Bluetooth dongle kit, which powered the latest Bluetooth v2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) function.

This USB 2.0-based dongle delivers high-speed data transfers at 3 Mbps and up to 40 meters in coverage range with the bundled USB extension docking stand.

“The WL-BTD202 is a new addition that diversifies our wireless family that already included a comprehensive line of Wi-Fi offerings,” said Hektor Tung, Director of ASUS Wireless Business. “Its compactness is perfect for accompanying users anytime and anywhere to give their computing devices the capability to connect with other Bluetooth devices at high speeds.”

According to ASUSTeK, the WL-BTD202 has been designed from scratch with user convenience at heart, incorporating Bluetooth v2.0 with EDR function, the WL-BTD202 allows 3 Mbps high-speed data transfer, wherein it takes 4 seconds for the ASUS dongle to transmit a 1 MB file, while devices based on Bluetooth v1.2 takes up to 12 seconds. The latest Bluetooth specification further enlarges signal coverage area to a 40-meter range when used with the docking stand and lowers power consumption to offer a development in bandwidth, distance and stability during data synchronization between various computing devices.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) support offers wireless stereo audio enjoyment through Bluetooth earphones. Simply plug the WL-BTD202 to a computing device to wirelessly transmit music stored to Bluetooth headphones and enjoy stereo audio quality with the freedom to roam.

The USB 2.0-based and compact WL-BTD202 is hot-pluggable, enabling quick Bluetooth connection activation. It is combined with the ASUS-developed software utilities that aid users in managing the device and guarantee perfect sync-up between seven devices simultaneously.
