ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has launched the 12.1″ ultra portable U5A Notebook Series. All parts of the notebook, from interior components to exterior housing and paint, comply with RoHS regulations Directive 2002/95/EC (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Featuring Splendid Technology and built-in Bluetooth EDR, the sleek and compact U5 notebook, is said to be perfect for business professionals who want an amalgamation of true mobility coupled with full connectivity.

The U5 Notebook Series is a completely green model that conforms with Directive 2002/95/EC, which requires the substitution of various heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium) and brominated flame-retardants in electrical and electronic equipment.

Weighing 1.4 kg, the slim and lightweight U5 notebook features a seamless touch pad design that helps users to type and maneuver the cursor in one fluid operation while eliminating annoying dust accumulation.

Integrated with the latest Splendid Color Enhancement Engine technology, the 12.1″ LCD screen displays images with enhanced contrast, brightness, skin tone and color saturation for vivid presentations.

Bluetooth V2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) allows wireless connection and facilitates a high data transfer rate of 2.1 Mbps that is three times faster than standard Bluetooth without EDR. What’s more…Bluetooth EDR also saves power due to the efficient transmission, providing long-lasting battery supply for improved mobile computing capability.
