Nvidia logo Graphics genius Nvidia has purchased chipset maker ULI Electronics.

Nvidia is paying $52 million US for Taiwanese firm ULI, with the deal subject to regulatory confirmation.

The CEO, Alex Kuo, will join Nvidia as the senior executive of its chipset business in Asia. Nvidia said it will continue selling existing products for the time being.

ATI is most probably going to be gobsmacked about this transaction.
