IBM has finally got around to spotting some products that will use the OpenDocument standard.

In a press conference held in Delhi, Big Blue Executives said that the company’s Workplace Managed Client will be able to read, write and save documents in the OpenDocument format (ODF).

Inspite of IBM has publicly endorsing OpenDocument, it has yet to put its money where its mouth is, and release a few products which support it.

IBM will use a Web portal and shared directories to issue documents in the format.

According to News.com, IBM thinks that third world countries will be keen on the idea to break the hold that Microsoft has over their hearts and minds.
