Sony, Warner and Digital Access Logos Warner Music and Sony BMG have announced that they are currently working with Russian industrial group, Access Industries and music labels Soyuz and Nikitin Records for the launch of a new business called Digital Access.

The new Moscow-based platform will distribute music, full-track audio downloads, ringtones, video clips and color images in both Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Besides, as Digital Access is more like a wholesale offering, it will work with rights owners, content providers, mobile operators and online stores to make music available from the music giants’ extensive catalogues.

According to Warner Music International Chairman and Chief Executive Patrick Vien, “This is a strategic investment that we believe will play a pivotal role in unlocking the potential of the dynamic Russian music market.”

Digital Access will also be working on collecting material from other content providers.
