Autodesk aims at Key Manufacturing Hubs in India for its ‘Digital Vision’, intros ‘Digital Prototyping’
Leading design software and digital solutions company Autodesk, has disclosed its vision to help redefine the Product Development Process in the Indian manufacturing industry. Autodesk intends to help Indian manufacturers improve productivity and reduce cost of manufacturing by introducing the concept of ‘Digital Prototyping’.
‘Digital Prototyping’ is an approach that uses 3D modeling and engineering data to visualize and analyze designs without making physical prototypes.
Recently, Aberdeen Group, a US based industry research firm, conducted a research where they discovered that best-in-class manufacturers who used digital prototyping built half the number of physical prototypes than the average manufacturer. They got products to market 58 days faster with nearly 50 percent lower prototyping costs. Using digital prototyping, manufacturers can now bring new products to market faster without the expense and waste of multiple physical prototyping.
Andrew Anagnost, Vice President, Manufacturing Solutions, Autodesk Inc. said, “As the leading design technology solutions player in the manufacturing industry, Autodesk is committed to providing companies with the most innovative 2D and 3D solutions. A move to digital prototyping will help manufacturers answer questions on products before starting to build them. We have updated our product portfolio to help manufacturers leverage the power of functional design and thereby adopt digital prototyping. We hope that our efforts to create a difference through our solutions will have a positive impact on the manufacturing industry in India.”
Autodesk offers a complete array of software solutions for the manufacturing industry including its chief 3D design offering, Autodesk Inventor. The latest Autodesk manufacturing solutions redefine the product design process by supporting and connecting all of the disciplines involved in product development, from industrial design to mechanical and electrical engineering and manufacturing.
Ajay Advani, Head, Manufacturing Solutions, Autodesk India & SAARC maintained, “Amid immense growth achieved by the Indian manufacturing sector, the need of the hour is for India to move to a higher level of designing process with the use of advanced design solutions. As design leaders, Autodesk is committed to transform the Indian manufacturing industry and help them compete at a global level. The emphasis on ‘digital prototyping’ is just one of the initiatives that we believe will help India become the hub for design outsourcing and manufacturing.”
