Panasonic logo Panasonic, one of the leading battery manufacturers in the world has introduced a new nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery, thus expanding its INFINIUM battery portfolio. This new Infinium rechargeable battery can be charged up to 1000 times.

The Infinium rechargeable battery was developed in response to consumers’ demands for a greater level of convenience, reliability and stability. In fact, Panasonic presented it’s Infinium line of batteries at the Panasonic booth at the 2007 CES which took place in Las Vegas at the start of 2007.

The Infinium line of batteries utilizes a technology that is stable and reliable over its extended lifetime. The batteries in the Infinium line have the ability to store maximum power, even after charging the battery hundreds of times. In the case of ordinary rechargeable batteries, the capacity decreases rapidly.

In fact, tests that were conducted by Panasonic showed that the Infinium line of batteries retained up to 80 per cent of its power, after nearly a half year storage at room temperature.

Moreover, the Panasonic Infinium rechargeable batteries come pre-charged and ready-for-use only because of its high degree of resistance to self-discharge.

For those interested in the Panasonic Infinium line of batteries, Panasonic will soon be providing a new charging system for Infinium batteries that focuses mainly on maximum safety and convenience for consumers. This new charger is small, light-weight and has a fold-out plug which works just about anywhere in the world. More importantly, the Panasonic Infinium charger incorporates advanced safety features that include a childproof cover.

The Panasonic Infinium rechargeable battery will be available in the standard AA and AAA sizes that can be used in all portable appliances. The Infinium rechargeable battery will sell for a price of $10.99 for a 4-pack and $19.99-$24.99 for the charging kit.
