Toshiba recalls 1,400 Sony Batteries Not even a month has passed from the previous recall, and Toshiba US has again ordered for 1,400 Sony batteries to be recalled from the company’s laptops. The reason for the same is obviously the overheating problems that have been encountered in the recent times.

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that contain Sony cells used in Toshiba notebook models such as Satellite A100, Satellite A105 and Tecra A7, which were developed in the period of January 1 to April 30th of 2006, have apparently caused overheating problems.

Furthermore, the electronics maker has also advised users to stop using the recalled batteries. Users have been asked to contact the company to receive a free replacement batter. However, till then users have the option to either not use the notebook at all, which is surely not possible OR use the notebooks safely by switching off the system, removing the battery and using the AC adapter and power cord to power the system.
