Actor Chris Penn Found Dead in Los Angeles Apartment

Chris Penn Hollywood actor Chris Penn, younger brother of Oscar-winner Sean Penn, was found dead on Tuesday at a flat near the Pacific Ocean in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Monica.

Penn’s housekeeper, who called authorities to the scene, discovered the 40-year-old actor’s body in bed around 4 p.m.. Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

An autopsy and further tests are scheduled on Wednesday to determine the cause of death.

Sean Penn’s publicist issued a brief statement stating that the Penn family “would appreciate the media’s respect of their privacy during this difficult time.”

Penn, 40, was a character actor who acted in dozens of movies including “Reservoir Dogs,” “Mulholland Falls” and the 2004 film “Starsky & Hutch.”

Chris Penn was probably best known for playing Nice Guy Eddie Cabot in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. He also starred along with his brother in the 1986 film “At Close Range.”

Penn’s latest project was “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.” Video game where he voiced Officer Eddie Pulaski.
