The summer heat may not seem all that hurtful for gamers in India. Sony is cashing on the sunny season in the country to up the sale of its PSP console. The Sony PSP price in India has been slashed and is now offered for under Rs. 8,000. What’s more, the company hopes to pick up the underlying cricket fever too with the ‘Street Cricket Champions’ game being offered alongside the console for free.
Summers translate to complete vacation period for the young brigade. With most exams over and schools on holidays, Sony’s price drop appears to have come in at just the right time. Given India’s historic win at the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, the company seems to have hit the nail in the right spot with its ideally themed free game offering too.

The console’s new retail price point of INR 7990 and an attractive free game of Street Cricket Champions will make it an attractive buy this summer holidays for the Indian teenagers. ”
Acquiring the PSP will allow enthusiasts to avail of a range of titles beginning from just Rs. 599. And there seems to be something for just about every gamer right from fun adventures in LocoRoco 2 to underground racing in Need for Speed. The crazy Modnation Racers and God of War: Ghost of Sparta are some other titles on offer.
The portable gaming console also brings with it easy access to limitless entertainment through PSN. Online content and services like online gaming, downloading games, PS One classics, minis, trailers, free demos and add-ons are all up for grabs via the PlayStation store.
Starting this month onwards, the Sony PSP will be available in India for an affordable Rs. 7,990 only.
