In Wolfenstein 3D, we all loved taking down the ultimate bad guy namely Mecha Hitler. But sadly, id Software informs fans of the game that there won’t be a Hitler in Raven Software’s Wolfenstein.
The reason for the Nazi party leader not making an appearance is due to a timeline factor. The latest Wolfenstein game from Raven Software takes place after Wolfenstein 3D sequel called Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Hitler featured in the 1992 Wolfenstein 3D game as the final boss. He was at his deadliest best in a big mechanized steel suit.
Peter Sokal, id Software community manager told Destructoid, “No, in this game there will be no Hitler. We love ‘Mecha Hitler.’ Obviously, he’s one of the classic bad guys in videogames. It’s so famous in Wolf 3D when you finally killed him off, but this time around, like I said, it takes place after the events of Return to Castle Wolfenstein.”
He further added, “So, we wanted to expand on that story, make it a lot deeper story arc this time around. For the story we were trying to tell this time, it just didn’t really fit to have Hitler and Mecha Hitler in the game.”
Although the latest game will not feature the feared Nazi icon, we are expecting them to throw in other Nazi-based goons which would be equally fun to eliminate.
