Rock Band announces latest track catalog additions

MTV Games and Harmonix are out with a musical treat for Rock Band fanatics. Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP owners can get rocking with tracks by Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, System of a Down and Bullet for My Valentine.

Foo Fighters Pack 3 includes ‘Best of You’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Wheels’, and ‘Word Forward’. The last two are previously unreleased tracks that feature with 14 others in the band’s Greatest Hits album which was released on November 3, 2009. The Nirvana Bleach Pack contains ‘About a Girl’, ‘Blew’ and ‘School’ which are part of an imminent special edition album release marking the rock group’s 20th anniversary debut.

‘Fake Friends’ by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts which featured in their 1984 album called Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth will be included in the Rock Band catalog too. All the aforementioned songs are original master recordings and are out exclusively for Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation3 in the Rock Band Music Store and LEGO Rock Band Music Store.

Rock Band Unplugged will extend their track list to 55 songs with Bullet for My Valentine’s ‘Waking the Demon’ and System of a Down’s ‘Toxicity’. The new tracks are offered up at the Rock Band Unplugged in-game music store for PSP starting from today. The Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 song downloads have already been made available. Tracks from the Nirvana and Foo Fighters packs can be purchased individually too.

Each track for the PSP gaming unit is priced at £.99 UK. Songs for the Xbox 360 are priced at £.99 UK, €1.49 EU apiece or 160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360. The Nirvana Bleach Pack and Foo Fighters Pack 3 cost £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU or 440 Microsoft Points and £3.49 UK, €5.29 EU or 560 Microsoft Points, respectively. Wii owners can purchase individual tracks for $2 or 200 Wii Points apiece.
