Pearl Jam, The Offspring, Mission of Burma among others for Wii Rock Band

Here is some rocking news for fans of music and games everywhere. Harmonix and MTV Games announce that bands like The Offspring, Mission of Burma and Pearl Jam are among the many to feature on the Rock Band Music Store this week. 16 tracks from these popular artists will be available as downloadable content for the Wii console.

The Store will feature three tracks from the punk band Mission of Burma namely ‘Mica’, ‘That’s How I Escaped My Certain Fate’ and ‘That’s When I Reach for My Revolver’. It will also feature three songs from alternative musicians Pearl Jam are ‘Brother’, ‘Alive’ and ‘State of Love and Trust’. The last two songs are Live: Drop in the Park. More songs from many famous artists like George Thorogood, Offspring, Panic at the Disco and Harvey Danger were already released yesterday.

Tracks from these bands can be found in the Wii Rock Band Music Store. They are from the back catalog of Rock Band music that was already accessible to PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. Previously released downloadable content will continue to release for Wii until all 700 songs of the whole back catalogue is offered. After including these latest additions, the Wii Rock Band Music Store will comprise of over 345 songs.

The line-up features songs like ‘Space Truckin’ by Deep Purple, ‘Bad to the Bone’ from George Thorogood, ‘Cream and Bastards Rise’ by Harvey Danger and ‘Forever’ from In This Moment. Other songs include ‘Closer’ and ‘Swamped’ by Lacuna Coil and two songs by The Offspring namely ‘Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)’ and ‘Gone Away’. Also ‘She’s a Handsome Woman’ by Panic at the Disco and ‘Take Back the City’ by Snow Patrol is also featured in the Rock Band line-up.

Players can purchase these tracks for a price of $2 per song from the in-game Rock Band 2 Music Store.
